In plain English, these are the morals from Episode 4:
Just exploring other options for Josh besides the really good idea I'd had in Episode 2. Also playing with ideas for the new Kurt character.
Does Mary ever quit. Just trying to find ways to make her do so. Yes, there are people like Mary. Yes, we relate. But after a while, she's a crashing bore. If she's going to meddle repeatedly, at least change the style from time to time. Perhaps even have some fun with it. Fun is good.
I can't tell if it's the way the script is written or the way the director calls for it or the way the actors do it, but there sure is little difference between the style of affection grown kids get and the style that ex--uh,--former wives get. I wanted to highlight that. And also, I think an incest plotline would be very interesting.
