In plain English, these are the morals from Episode 38:
I wanted to see some closure on this business of attacking people in their workplace. I can't believe this was dropped. I'm sure if someone did that, especially someone with lots of money, we'd find charges brought against Nick in hopes of a juicy financial settlement.
I also wanted an excuse to bring back "Emmy", and to explain why she looked so much like Amy.
It just completely drives me nuts when people on this show call up other people and then don't say anything. And then it drives me even more nuts when people on the other end don't use the protection afforded to them by the modern phone system for logging harassing phone calls.
Having Victoria follow in Nick's foosteps to Seattle seemed the obvious kind of thing to do. And although I'm confident that Collins and Sons could have eventually gotten Nick off, I think Victoria's more straightforward money-oriented approach was simpler, both to resolve this messy matter, and to underscore why she could take the Seattle job that Nick couldn't. Also, this gave Nikki a chance to become involved in the only way she seems to know how.
What I don't understand is why they didn't just send Victoria to Seattle until/unless Heather Thom could return. That would have avoided this entire abortive plotline with Nick in Seattle.
That's all for Episode 38's morals.
