In plain English, these are the morals from Episode 16:
There is just no reason to suppose that if someone has a shady past, that it will magically work out to be a pretty past. Ashley is taking an enormous risk going away with someone who is as emotionally disturbed as this guy. I just thought I'd illustrate another of the options for his past that I'm somehow sure will not be what has been chosen for us by the writers.
A lot of people expected another fling between these guys, but then a kiss was all we got. So I started off thinking I would write the fling back in. But then when I started typing, I realized that Danny would have to be even more braindead than we often imagine him to be if he really went for Cricket after being with gorgeous Phyllis. And then suddenly I realized that I had the opportunity to put the Bug in her place in a bunch of different ways all at once, so I couldn't resist having a little fun.
Part of this is about the fact that people think Tony is really weird and that him being gay might explain some of it, and it might lead to some more fun storylines than the standard trianglish kind of thing we seem to be setting up for the ten millionth time.
John has seemed to be very hands off on Jabot these days. He used to really care about the image of the company and used to talk about how various changes being made were or were not in the best image of the company. Now he lets just about anything roll by him. I thought it would be fun to test what his limits were and maybe get him back involved in caring about the company. But I guess I went too far since he collapsed there.
That's all for Episode 16's morals.
