Episode 120 Morals

In plain English, these are the morals from Episode 120:

Might Victor respond favorably to a cold call from Alice?

Alice is such a nice strong personality, I'm just sure Victor would be putty in her hands. (It'd be funny if Diane lost Victor not to Nikki but to Alice.) She seems like the sort to get what she wants, as this conversation illustrates.

Does Michael continue to give Phyllis the cold shoulder?

My main focus here was that of getting Alice some legal representation. And I figured it would be especially good to give her someone who couldn't be defeated. The only little problem was that Cricket's already sort of representing ``the other side''. So I had to do a little shuffling here. I hope it worked.

I also think the writers owe us something in the way of better direct conflict between Michael and Cricket, perhaps culminating in a steamy affair between her and Michael. Having Michael freeze up here was mostly just a reminder of that hope.

Oh, and I just don't understand this thing between Michael and Phyllis at all. It's not that I ever thought they were good together--I didn't. But given that they were together, I think we need more explanation of them being so apart now. It seems like everyone shuffled one step to the right to create partners, all in lockstep. Pretty odd.

Should Sharon show Nick an ice time?

I'm really glad Grace seems to finally be standing up to Nick, but come on, I'm getting tired of waiting: It's time Sharon learned the full truth about Nick and his past times with Grace.

Then again, I thought she belonged with Tony. But now that Nick Scotti is leaving and they're talking about recasting it, I don't know what I think. Other than that recasting is an extraordinarily bad idea. It's not the character of Tony I'm so fond of, it's Nick Scotti's portrayal of him. The character himself is a pretty pathetic ambitionless, purposeless, wimpy loser. Recasting him and expecting audience excitement to transfer over is just a bad plan. So that leaves Sharon with no one to go to. That's sad. I guess I should start mapping out some better ways out.

If Grace's cool plan to save Cassie fails, has she met her match?

There's a lot of character crossover of late, so I thought it would be fun to hint at some ideas of my own. Somehow this got mixed up in my ideas that Grace can probably only redeem herself before Nick and Sharon by rescuing their precious little girl (again)... or find a replacement. That led me to thinking of people who were good at getting replacement children on demand, which of course led me straight to Sheila. However, I've not been watching B&B lately and apparently Sheila has driven off into the sunset with baby Mary while I wasn't looking. At least, that's the story I got from Helena's Unofficial Kimberlin Brown Homepage when I went surfing for background material on Sheila's history. So I figured it was about time for Sheila to show back up in Genoa City, perhaps with an older Mary in tow--maybe even played by Camryn Grimes, who I daresay could handle a double role and might find it an interesting opportunity to play someone with a different personality. Anyway, I didn't want to write the details of the plot so I just sketched it here. There are a lot of ways it could go, but I figured for now it would be enough to put Alice and Sheila in the same room and let you imagine what fireworks might fly if their interests didn't exactly align and they ended up sparring with one another.

That's all for Episode 120's morals. Don't miss Episode 121 and its morals!
