Episode 28 Morals

In plain English, these are the morals from Episode 28:

A strange length pregnancy arouses suspicion

I felt weird writing this episode as if there were something supernatural going on. I don't want people to think it's all I can do and I feel like I've resorted to lots of supernatural explanations lately. And personally, I think the supernatural mostly makes daytime TV seem trashy and silly. But then, is it my fault that this pregnancy is premature after 10 months? I have to work with the data I'm given, and the data says this isn't a human child. Ditto with strange labs that don't have any real chemicals in them, teleportation and time distortion, and other things. I didn't make up those parts. I'm just working with them as givens. I mean, what's a poor parody-writer to do?

Two two-faced ghosts leave Helen aghast

Once again, weirdness abounds: I felt it was pushing it to have these ghosts playing regular roles on the show, but I had to keep reminding myself that I didn't think up that part. The only part I'm doing here is trying to make the ghosts seem like part of a coherent plot--on the assumption that a coherent plot is the goal. Hmmm. Perhaps that's the faulty assumption. Perhaps lack of coherence is a plan for success--a sort of dysfunctional attempt to emulate the quirky incoherence of Twin Peaks. Oops! There I go leaning toward the supernatural again. Well, I'll have to go think about this a bit more, I guess.

That's all for Episode 28's morals. Don't miss Episode 29 and its morals!
